Ceremony Location
Selecting the venue for the wedding ceremonyThere are a number of issues that you need to consider when you are thinking about selecting a venue in which your wedding ceremony will take place.
Many couples choose to take their vows in a place of worship. This may be one where they attend, or another family member has ties with. Difficulties may arise when the bride and groom do not share the same religious traditions and beliefs and these difficulties need to be handled in a sensitive manner. In some cases, a couple do not have any religious beliefs and rather than go through a religious ceremony to please other family members, choose to hire a venue that is more neutral.
The choice of venues available for a couple to take their wedding vows is huge. They can choose to take them at home, in a park, on a boat, or any other place that fits with a particular theme. The list is endless. If a couple can think of it, it is likely that there is a place that can accommodate them and their wedding guests.
When considering any venue, the issues are more or less the same.
First, you need to book well in advance to be sure of getting the venue that you have set your heart on. At least 12 months is preferable. You also need to consult your budget as this will have a considerable impact on your choice of venue. Some couples decide to go for the venue of their dreams, and even cut down on the number of invited guests if it is needed to fit in with their budget. Others will go with larger numbers and find a venue that they can afford.
Whatever the choice, things such as electrical hooks ups, music and accessibility need to be considered, along with whether there is a dressing area where the bride can 'touch up' before the ceremony. How easy will it be to transport the bridal party to the location? These things need to be considered before you fall in love with the location.
Once you have chosen the location, make sure that you have the contract in writing, along with acknowledgment of any monies paid and owing.
